April – The Glass Slipper Project
A recent addition to our annual calendar, the Chicago Lakeshore Alumnae Chapter is working with the Glass Slipper Project to provide prom dress, accessories and make-up to girls in the Chicago Public School System that could not otherwise afford to attend the prom. To date, The Glass Slipper Project has helped over 4,000 Chicago Public School students realize the prom of their dreams.

October – Children’s Memorial Halloween Party
The women of CLS hold an annual Halloween Party at Children’s Memorial Hospital located in the heart of Lincoln Park. Dressed in costume, we help the kids decorate pumpkins, make crafts and play games. We also visit the rooms of children who are unable to attend the party, delivering trick-or-treat bags filled with toys, games and Halloween goodies. A wonderful time is always had by the children and the Alpha Phis.

November – Greater Chicago Food Depository Food Drive
For the last several years, CLS has sponsored the Greater Chicago Food Depository in an annual food drive held at Jewel-Osco. We collect much needed food items as well as monetary donations to help the pantry in it’s efforts to feed the local community. Each year we strive to raise more and more and this year we have topped ourselves again raising 190 bags of food and $240 in cash. That translates into $3090 worth of food for the community.
December – Border’s Book Wrap
The Chicago Lakeshore Alumnae Chapter host an annual holiday book wrapping fundraiser at Borders in Lincoln Park to benefit the Alpha Phi Foundation. This is our chapter’s largest event to sponsor the foundation. The foundation raises awareness and funds to support research in the fight against heart disease – the number one killer of women in America.
